People will rather delusionmaxx, lose touch with reality, and even outright go insane rather than acknowledge difficult and horrifying truths. They will resist truth with all of their might.

They'll do anything but accept the truth
That's mammals in general. Reptiles do not have such weakness. They focus on what matters and are devoid of any weak emotions to cloud their judgement. Better than us in many aspects.
