How to make gifs: Anyone has experience?

So I want to make a few gifs. Have some great ideas. My question is: does anyone here know how to make one, and which programs are needed? I have movie studio platinum, but apparently I need something like photoshop as well. So any advice for me would be great thx.

Btw: Have windows.

Making gifs in photoshop works perfectly. There are a bunch of tutorials on youtube and you should check them out
