Is it worth buying a monoblock air conditioner ? They are cheaper and require less effort to install than split ACs, but i also read they take longer to cool down a room. Also how loud is it usually ?

Idk where you live in Germanistan but there are like only 10 days in summer when I wished that i had an AC. And I live in the south, near one of the hottest cities in the country.
If you can afford one you should get a split model, there is a reason why everyone has those.

Issue is my room is on the sun side, which means it can heat up quite a lot in the summer. Thats also the reason i spent the majority of my summer in the basement.
I know split would be better, but its also more expensive and id probably have to hire someone to install it.

Yeah, that's how we did it in my house in Niggermania like 5 years ago. I guess that hiring someone will be more expensive here in Piefkeland, but again I urge you to get a split model. In southern Romania our split AC handled a 43 degree summer heatwave pretty well, didn't overheat or shut down randomly. Damn things are really energy intensive though.
