you just become number and number, alcohol can accelerate this if you want

good question
I wouldn't be on this forum if I knew the answer
when you find a new activity, you're supposed to put a little effort first, then get a little reward (admiration, money, positive feedback), over time you're supposed to increase the amount of effort and thus reward
we don't get any positive feedback because everything is looks-based, so our brains prompt us to quit the activity we're doing (because it obviously doesn't benefit us) and seek another one that would benefit us -- the problem is there's nothing that would benefit us and thus we're stuck in the cycle of no energy/motivation

Have sex inkwell.
