In my opinion, you can't criticize the mods without criticizing the userbase, at least a part of it.
I don't really like the "rules for you but not for us" policy, and how users can be banned for things mods can get away with. I was already against it as a mod, it's still the case now.
It is also disturbing and disgusting to know that there are foids among us and that people allowing this are not punished. Although the official reason to justify this is good on paper, it should not be lead to abuses.
But mods aren't perfect and can do mistakes.
And the userbase also can be rather stupid and stubborn at times and this place can be a real pain in the arse to manage at times, to not say often.
Many users want the rules being applied, but when they do get applied and it makes one of their friends banned, they whine about mods being tyrans.
If rules don't get applied people whine. If they are applied people whine too. You understand that as a mod this shit can be really tiresome, especially as it happens rather often.
And mods being viewed as tyrans just because they are doing their job isn't something I'm fond of.
It's not a case of "mods are X" or "mods are Y". It's always more complex than just all black or all white.
