I've always tried to avoid eye contact with people. People, especially women, smile at me a lot; however, it feels so fake. It's the toxic Canadian fake niceties--the social contract of Urban Canada. I find myself just looking away or closing my eyes when they stare. Maybe it's because I'm so freakishly hideous like some kind of sideshow amusement.
