I never had a female friends, but I've had male friends who did. Watching them buy females gifts but them never returning the favor with sex is just awful to watch.
That has been my experience. My best real-life friend is a woman in her 60s that I used to work with. We always have a blast whenever we go out, but it's obviously not the same thing as being around a woman your age or younger.
