iq was a bad way of quantifying intelligence because theres so many different factors

I followed the rules and didn't use a calculator or pen and paper. I found most of the questions immensely difficult. I probably wouldn't have scored much lower if it were in chinese or something. Actually there wasn't a single question I found to be remotely "easy" even if I ultimately figured out the answer.

If i'm being honest with you, these online IQ test are laughably inaccurate. There was one linked in a separate thread a few months ago, in which I did for about 45 minutes until I got bored and started spam clicking to finish the quiz. It said I scored 140 and provided a quartile chart too. It's a straight up ego booster for unintelligent people.
I'm mentioning this because naturally/genetically I have a sub average IQ, along with the majority of the forum.
If your parents did real payed for accurate tests, then yours would most likely be closer to your mums.
IQ doesn't follow the dominant-recessive allele pattern to that of phenotypical traits like eye colour. For example:
If your parents both had brown eyes but you were born with blue eyes, it's a 25% occurrence of that happening.
But if you parents both were ~70IQ, then realistically you would also be about the same. IQ is highly polygenic, meaning thousands of genetic variants contribute small effects.
Not to mention that both of his parents are around 2 standard deviations below the mean, so it's safe to say that @tricho_maniac would be as well.

It's a measurement, not a belief. By that same logic anything that is "man made" would not be practical then. For example your BMI wouldn't be accurate as it is a man made measurement - but we can still observe if someone is overweight or has a higher fat percentage without needing a precise test.
IQ has been constructed by man made principles, but God has given the variations of abilities. Whichever way you want to look at it.
