I've been wanting to get into philosophy for a bit now but I don't know where to start, I know books is a good start but I'm unsure on philosophers and books I should get. I'm still a student so money is a lil tight so I no I can't drop 1000 bucks on a 12 series book set but some good books for a grey would be helpful.

just read what ever type of philosophy youre interested in, it isnt just some 1 way tunnel, i do recommend buying books on amazon with their used section and ebay.

Phenomenology of Spirit by GWF Hegel

Just download the book online bro

read the history of (western) philosophy first, then choose which school or philosopher you are most interested in.
for eastern philosophy, mostly Hinduism and Buddhism, read The Laws of Manu, Upanishads, and the Pali nikayas. most resources can be found online, like the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. ai is also very helpful.

Whatever you do don’t read Hegel or anything that derives from him.

You could get into it however you like. It depends on what part of philosophy intrigues you — from that point it is more about understanding the fundamentals and learning about specific branches, be it metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and logic; these are all interconnected, but usually you would concentrate your effort on one. I would personally recommend that you look into Schopenhauer's works, as he is one of the greatest philosophers in recent history in my opinion.
