Discussion How do history teachers cope with all the lies?

I'm no historian nor I consider myself a history buff but I've always been interested in the subject, and even though I'm used to being distrustful of everyone by default, the amount of lies in recorded history still piss me the fuck off every now and then. I can't even imagine what it would be like to work as a history teacher and being forced to lie to my students on a daily basis.

How do they even cope??

Even the little, benign bits of history are often inaccurate. Edison didn't invent the light bulb. The Wright brothers weren't the first in powered flight. If they're willing to lie about the small things, do you really think that accounts of large events in human history are all 100% honest and accurate?
