How did Rockstar go from producing games like Manhunt to whatever slop GTA VI is about to be

You know what I am talking about if you ever played Manhunt literal piece of gold, I don't know how they pulled this off to be honest. This game was much scarier than whatever slop is being produced and marketed as "horror" no, it's not a fucking horror. Real horror is at least 80% about the atmosphere, and Manhunt did it perfectly.

based i got all the achievements on playstation and wanted to get it on pc too but havent finished it yet. i played hotline miami 2 a lot too but the campaign was really hard.

Yeah HM2's plat could be like 7/10 difficulty. Some of the levels are ridiculously hard, but fun.

Manhunt is really good because the horror you feel is very atmospheric as opposed to jumpscares. The atmosphere is hopeless and you just feel dread the entire game. This dread persists even near the end of the game where it's easier because you spend a lot of time blasting enemies with guns.


Manhunt is an example of how Rockstar fell off not because of how good the game is or anything but because the days of Rockstar experimenting with new stuff is gone. GTA 6 is gonna be extremely safe and the only thing "risky" we will get is nudity and the word "fuck" somehow said even more often than GTA V.

Was going to post something else but I am real glad to see another HLM player here. I got all achievements on 1 and 2, and played Hotline Miami Redux and that Bloodlife mod that came out plus the popular campaigns. I think my favorites are Hunter and The Kremlin Czar.

On the topic on whatever GTA VI is becoming now, the older GTAs and even some recent ones were allowed to make based jokes. You could see them on billboards or on the radio, ped dialogue, etc... In case it wasn't obvious I doubt we'll see much of that now. Nothing but ESG fuckery and DEI will be turned up to da max, brah. Just one of the many changes you'll see in Nu-GTA.

i wish they would remaster manhunt but rockstars cuck fanbase dosent want anything not gta/rdr related and im pretty sure it got banned in countries even back when they made it. and also the workers are women and soyboys
