Wichita police arrest man accused of walking into a hospital and raping 3 patients

A man walked into a Wichita hospital and raped three female patients there before being caught and arrested, police said Friday.

Sedgwick County Jail records show Miguel Rodela was booked Thursday afternoon for three counts of rape of a physically powerless victim. He was held without bond Friday morning.

Officers responded at around 2 a.m. Thursday after security at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis reported the incident, Wichita police spokesperson Juan Rebolledo said. He added that the victims are three female patients.

Rebolledo said Rodela was not an employee or a patient at the hospital.
