i'm homeless starting from today, and this is my third time being homeless.

i know @Emba was a homelesscel in the past, or still is, i don't know his history.

has any other user here ever been homeless before, and how was it for you?

Not yet, are the council still looking for somewhere you can stay, whilst without accomodation?

Nah, but I live in a pretty run down nasty apartment. We’ve had mold, roaches, mice, flies, termites, beetles, etc.

I was homeless for almost 2 years when I was 17. My mom kicked me out because I refused to go to school. At first, I ended up in a youth protection agency, but as soon as I turned 18, they kicked me out too.

I wasn’t completely on the streets though. My mom gave me some money now and then, and sometimes I was allowed to stay at a hotel her bf owned. Most of the time I was just drifting around. Spent hours in internet cafés playing cs:s and c&c generals, or was hanging out with punks and drunks at the train station. Winter was pretty brutal. I once spent the night in a heated cemetery bathroom because of the cold. :feelskek: The worst for me was the sleep deprivation. Not knowing where you’ll sleep, if at all.

Make a list of the worst retirement homes in your area and send it to her as a Christmas card.

That is a thing. The never knowing where you can safely sleep.

But if you have the right gear, or mindset, you can sleep almost anywhere.

they are, or so they say.
they found this one place for me in another town, but i got rejected from it.

i hope that me being homeless and rough sleeping should make me more of a priority for somewhere and increase my chances of being housed

Why are they kicking you out? are you acting like a nigger?

I was homeless for three years. I lived in 17 homeless shelters in 10 different cities in America. I also lived on the streets for about half of those three years.

Brutal. Are you in a better situation now? (edit: of course you are, my brain isn't working)

Yeah, I'm doing good rn .
I'll hopefully be moving to a flat tomorrow.
Earlier, this week, a member of my towns housing team sent me an email telling me about viewing a flat.
I went down to the flat, met the landlord and told him and the housing team member that I liked the flat and wanted to move in.
I've got to go down to the housing office tomorrow and sign some paperwork, and hopefully after that, I can move in on the same day

Yes. I have been working as a trucker for the past ten years. I now own my own house.
