all religions (that ik of) feature an inheritance of oneself, that beyond the grave you will still have an existence

places like heaven all have the scenario of the soul (ego) transcending to higher plane of existence, but still happen to retain our fragile, low IQ ego

our minds are animalist, to higher entities it would be like us comparing our brains to ants, paradise could only sooth our animalist want for pleasure and tranquility

to retain 'ourselves' in the afterlife, we would have to go either being a slave to our mortal side of the brainand body, or ascend to the higher planes of big braingus

reincarnation is the same, we want to believe WE will continue existing, that even if we are obliterated eventually, we'll return to life in another form one day

Matthew 22:

30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,

32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

Idk I think we are just afraid of death
