There's this gym receptionist whos very friendly and greets everyone who walks in including me at first, even ugly fat people as far as I've seen, eventually they kinda stopped greeting me on her own volition but some confusion happened cuz of my membership and my mum rang up cuz she pays for it and she told them I'm autistic (it was her on the other side) and ever since then they literally won't even look at me now, like completely blanks me every time, why are people like this? This isn't the first time that people have completely changed upon finding out I'm autistic, even people I've actually gotten on with well do a complete 360 upon finding out I'm autistic, why is this? It's not like anything has changed and if anything it should justify my weird awkward behaviour in their minds as "oh he's just autistic" but it makes them suddenly completely ignore me, WTF?

Use it to your advantage, start blurting out "handjob, handjob" mid-sentence

"Thanks Mom!"

Why would your mum tell the receptionist that? I'd place blame on your mother for revealing that. Mental conditions should be kept private unless disclosing them is necessary in a situation.

She always tells people I'm autistic in situations like this idk why

Tell her to stop doing that, because in most situations that only serves to lower others' perceptions of you.

She probably thinks people will treat you with more patience, basically like a child. She thinks it will make your life easier but i guess it has an opposite effect.

I have many times she still fucking does it, I say exactly that to her and she just says I should never be ashamed to be autistic

Man, I wish my old gym receptionist ignored me. Hated having to greet the fake hello everytime.

Likewise. I would feel glad whenever I saw there was no receptionist to greet me when I used to go. I feel the same way at home, I hate having to greet my parents in the morning.

It’s actually a common thing with mothers of autistic sons. They think it’s their place to overshare. It’s honestly disgusting.

Autism is on the X chromosome apparently which boys only get from their mothers- that might explain why the mothers of autistic sons are frequently weird degenerates who have no social filter and think discussing other people’s medical information is an acceptable way to have a discussion.

she probably thinks what she will say will trigger you somehow

people treat autists like untouchables or schizophrenics
