You should at least be 15% body fat and have bloatminned. If you carry a lot of facial fat, then you need to go lower to find out.

It will take quite a while. Don't go too fast or you'll get burned out.

1k calorie deficit and plenty of protein. Hit the gym 3 days a week full body to ensure it's fat loss and not muscle loss. Once you get to 20%, reduce calorie deficit to 500. No need to do cardio. Do some walking if you feel like it, but not a requirement.
 
I have recently started cycling, it's a form of cardio I can handle and don't mind pulling 1-2 hour trips even, not sure of it's effectiveness though

It's quite effective, keep at it, just remember that diet is the most important. Without a caloric deficit, no matter how much physical activity, you won't burn fat.

I was casually (meaning I wasn't pushing myself) riding my exercise bike 90 minutes a day and the tracker said it was only 500 calories burned even though I was riding 20 miles. Diet is very important. You can negate that 20 miles of bike riding with a single snack. I'm skinny fat, 6'2" 175 lbs and I just fucking love to pig out. I can easily eat 4K+ calories in a day if I don't control myself, while ideally I need to be eating 2000 or less to lose weight. When I really let myself go I literally gain a pound a day from overeating. On the other hand, when I diet and exercise every day, I can typically lose 3 pounds a week. It's hard to stay dedicated, every day is a battle against my hunger. I'm constantly fluctuating weight, I've weighed between 155-205, and the daily struggle against hunger is torture.

It has some blue pulled shit such as "ignore negative thoughts" , but also has some really good advice. I'll test everything and see if it works.
