The only place that I've been going to this summer is the gym, I feel comfortable there and I know most of the people. However, when I go out to a place that I haven't been to in a while (and it could be any place; the mall, a grocery store, Target etc.) I literally feel physically drained and tired afterwards from just seeing new people and thus being more self conscious. The worst places are clothing stores because there are mirrors everywhere and I get reminded of my ugliness every few seconds when I walk by one, thus amplifying my nervousness even more. I need to be alone to recuperate my mental state.

Being out in public drains by patience. All of the strangers that give me death stares or avert their gaze with a look of disgust is a bit overwhelming.

same. i only go out to use the gym these days.

I have conclued that going anywhere without a gf is depressing

the main cause of this is that you never know when you will be ridiculed next, so you always watch out. this is tiresome and why we dont like to be in crowds that are to small to melt into them.

Same. How long do you need to recover or are you fully operational afterwards?

In extreme circumstances I need up to two or even three days.
