He was the antagonist for most of the game and Demise we didn't know about. Not to mention the first fight against him was peak Skyward Sword. I had to look up the way to beat him. I even tried to use the beetle against him out of desperation before using the guide and recoiling in horror when it didn't work.

Agreed. It would've been nice to see him as the final boss. Would've been cool to see the prophecy actually get shaken up and we could've had a better zelda game future if that were the case
