If you haven't seen the Russian movie about the mongols from 2007, you should. It's a quite good movie. The link is here.
The movie correctly displays that Temujin was a cuck in that he accepted Börte back from her first captivity when she was pregnant and adopts his tribal enemies son as his own. This son was named Jochi. She has another kid out of wedlock in the movie. Temujin accepts both these children as his own.
This caused problems at his death. The paternity and thus right of inheritance was questioned and the empire was fractured. The mongol empire didn't absorb any kind of land into itself but was a hybrid and extension of the Chinese and Turco-Mongol historical lands. Parts of Europe and the Middle east and Europe were invaded but retaken by the indigenous peoples after a while. The empire wasn't based on religion or nationhood but rather on conquest and administration. Empires fall but nations reemerge after destruction. The Persian Iranian nation is a good example of this.
The Mongol empire was fractured due to different claims to the throne despite being quite well administered during the end. This would not have happened if Temujin had taken another wife when Börte was kidnapped or, if she was important, simply executed her bastard children when he had taken power. He could have had a multitude of wives during his life. The children of Börte were the oldest claimants of the throne but also the ones with most questionable paternity. The world may have become better because of the fall of the empire but from the perspective of the khan, it was a bad decision to ruin the order of succession by not establishing one and not execute his wives bastard children which he as a cuck treated like his own. It is possible that Börte was a powerful woman and a manipulator but that means that he even less should have brought her back from her first captivity; she was even married to a man within the tribe that held her during that time.
