Recently my old laptop with 4gb of DDR3 ram finally stopped working. So what laptop should I get? My budget is 1000 euro, I've seen people recommending Lenovo legion 5 but it just feels too small for me.

no laptop 4 ur face

get a thinkpad with linux bro trust

Get a PC If you can, its better If you want to play only

If its gonna stay in your room all day, dont get a laptop

PC is superior than a laptop unless your needs are centered around what a laptop provides.

Yeah, but i get that he asked for gaming

unironically don't get a laptop, even cheaper desktops are way more futureproof than laptops since you can replace shit down the line, that being said I have a HP victus which people say HP is shit but I've never had issues and a newer model is within your price range

Gaming laptops are pure garbage

Don't get a gaming laptop. There are a lot of features that will degrade and break over time, it's also too expensive to maintain. I have had a gaming laptop for 3 years, the wireless LAN receiver started to have problems after the end of the warranty. It's keyboard now also starts becoming unresponsive most of the time.

Gaming laptops suck. Get a cumpootuh! Especially if you don't have 4 grand for alienware

steam deck prolly the best option

get a chromebook and turn on gaming mode in the setting thats all you need bro trust

Lenovo Legion.

Just get a PC, way better and ur anyways gonna stay in your room

Gaming laptops are a joke.

you cant even get that because of ram
buy used parts and assemble yourself. Ram is not important for games. it's mostly graphics and laptops suck at it. Because laptop cards are castrated and you cannot upgrade it (reasonably easy)

just know how to solder theory

Get a PC, from the used market.

Preferably look for something where both RAM and GPU are missing for a cheaps as possible and invest the rest in a new GPU and RAM.

The problem with used GPUs and RAM is that they are quite often faulty since they are expensive and people only sell that shit on the used market once they start showing signs of failure.

You could get a nice used PC for 500€ and invest the other 500€ in a GPU and RAM.

That's how I would do it.

Alternatively there is this new Ryzen AI APU, which is incredibly powerful for the price.

I am considering this thing, tbh.

That framework board woth the APU and 32 gigs of RAM is slightly above 1000€ though.

Brootal, but still great for its size and power consumption.

The Legion 5 is a solid choice, but if a 15.6" screen feels too small, I'd look at 16-inch models instead. Something like the Lenovo Legion Pro, ASUS TUF A16, or Acer Nitro 16 often offers a much better viewing experience without being dramatically larger to carry around.
With a €1000 budget, I'd also prioritize getting at least an RTX 4060 (or equivalent), 16 GB of RAM, and a decent cooling system over extra RGB features or a thinner design. Those specs will make a much bigger difference in the long run.

(Omg bro thanks so much not only for advice but also for actually being on topic and not starting to rant about how desktop are superior to laptops.)
Yeah I've thought about the tuf a16 but it is made out of plastic and has IPS panel which I think is HUGE downgrade from the Lenovo legion.

Get a gaming laptop for 700-800 at Best Buy. Decent specs, 8gb ddrm, a decent CPU AND GPU. Etc etc

I bought an MSI at it stayed with me for 10yrs, i can reliably play any game released before 2023 without trouble.
