I mean, it would be nice to advance and become fully independent. But what should I do?

I've considered becoming a teacher as I've said in previous threads but I just don't have any motivation to pursue it. There is also a whole bevy of things that come with being a male teacher because people may assume you're a pedo and one false accusation can really fuck you over. I'd never teach juniors but maybe high school students.

Second career choice would be a politician but I need to greatly improve rhetoric and oratory and debate but I'm too shy.

It feels like any half decent career path is oversaturated these days. None of them seem appealing at all.

High school teachers, at least in the US, aren't well compensated. Imagine dealing with disrespectful youth who have no interest in what your teaching. Even if you become a professor at a reputable university, you'll deal with so much woke political nonsense. What subjects would you teach? Your interested in paleontology and history as a whole? Or do you have something else in mind?

I wouldn't touch teaching as a man in this climate. The pay hasn't kept up with inflation 30 years. Politics is equally bad unless you're willing to become a complete puppet for donor interests. Real rhetorical skill comes from conviction anyways, not training and if you're not naturally driven to speak up you'll just get chewed up by the system. But in this economy your best bet is finding a skilled trade or technical role where you can work independently cause at least then you're building something real instead of navigating institutional minefields designed to wear you down.
