This is the most common issue that plagues controllers, typically occurring between 1-2 years of usage. Every damn playstation controller I've had has succumbed to stick drift within 1-2 years, never longer than that.
My midnight black dualsense has just pissed the bed after 2 years, just a month after the 2 year warranty expired, what a bastard. So I've had to buy another 1 with 2 year warranty, went for the starlight blue 1 as I like to try new colours.
Sometimes a quick blow or a damp q tip can be enough to resolve it but sometimes there's just nothing you can do after its lifespan. Its a clear fuckin design flaw that has never been resolved since the ps3 era. The amount of money we spend on replacing these controllers alone is a piss take, they should be built to last ffs. We use the sticks more than any other input. I have a backup white dualsense that's still going strong but a fresh controller just feels better. Hope I can sell the faulty 1 at some derelict pawn shop unless they test its functionality in store. I'm sure you guys go through this bullshit, there's no escaping stick drift
