for many years I knew about ferrocrete boats and barges. (huge boats) but never made one.
my idea was to live on the ocean and eat fish and avoid the land normies..
unfortunately, ferrocrete has a short lifespan and requires too much paint and maintainence. its cheap AF, but not durable.
so I didn't do it.
I knew that Roman concrete was far far superior but it wasn't figured out yet. the semi exotic chemistry was daunting. simple stuff if you know it, hard to figure out if you don't.
well, after waiting for many years, I found out that it has been rediscovered! and there it a recipe for it.

instead of being easy to build like ferrocrete boats, it would require forms, and much longer curing times...
but once the thing was done it could (theoretically) float forever!
it would be resistant to the typical small arms fire of pirates, but not to cannons.
they would probably be fairly stable in rough seas or storms - that you could use to refill you're drinking water supplies! (in you're romcon tanks!)
these things can be built as small or large as you want!
I probably won't live long enough to see one useless I get born on one next life - god forbid!
it's a good gig for engineering cels
just selling unfinished hulls would make one rich AF
Roman concrete shipbuilding! run with it!
