Title. To sum it up, quantity is up and quality is down overall, but not for top 1000 books per category. Though top 100 are at best unaffected.

So yeah, mixed results for the guys here who might like coping with literature. Much more slop quite clearly being generated out there, the overall amount of produced works is much higher and the quality is much lower, but the authors who were already good before have now become more productive and the top books are higher quality on average even though the general average is lower. Seems like literature has just become an even more of a question of finding the diamonds in the rough:feelsstudy::giga:.

Modern publishing industry is just foids shitting out their retardations on white pages. 99% of books have been always slop. Doubt there's actually any uptick in quality. Seems like a narrative-driven headline.

I'd give it to AI for getting more people interested in writing. Writing with AI via trial and errors is much better than attending some modern literature class by some soy or a misandrist professor to learn about writing.

Books are such an immense time investment, I read information, articles, watch films and documentaries, spending like 15 hours on a single book seems too exhausting for me, unless it's something that I extremely need to know in detail and to such degree.

Yup. Even normies are now noticing how few men seem to be getting published recently.

That's why I like anthologies. You can quickly read one or two stories, then come back to it at any time, since the rest of the book has nothing to do with them.

We need to stop circulating this idea that any modern-day literature is good. A few days ago, I went to a Barnes & Nobles and proceeded to find nothing but trash and literary slop. Unsurprisingly, most of the authors were foids. Foids have completely ruined literature and I will forever hold this view point—and it's not like a modern-day male author will do much better 99.5% of the time. I don't know precisely what it is, and I certainly can't articulate it, but reading anything modern just feels so... off.

This is why I never joined in on hating on LLMs for producing literature. Not because I think that they're good at it—but because nobody writes anything better anyway. The way humans write in the modern-era may as well be considered to be on the same tier as LLMs, if not unironically below.

I only read books from male authors only.

I didn't mention it, mainly because I thought it irrelevant, but I did actually buy a book on my visit. The book had a really nice cover—once I removed the gay 'paper cover' thing that enveloped it, at least. I also read the summary and it seemed remotely interesting, and since I've made the choice to start engaging in literature more often, I decided to buy it.

Unfortunately, since my sister had also came with me (my family was outside in general), she was pressing me to hurry up and I didn't have the chance to search up the author's name to find out if it was a foid or not. The book was normally around thirty-five dollars, but since it was on sale for 50% off, I bought it for only seventeen or so. I bought it with cash and explicitly said that I didn't want a receipt.

Imagine my shock when I get to the car and realize my folly...

I still haven't touched the first page, nor do I ever plan to. I felt naught but despair on that day knowing that I wasted seventeen dollars and indirectly supported some ugly whore. I want my SEVENTEEN DOLLARS BACK.

Musicians and actors, too, but people haven't started noticing yet, since it's not as lopsided in these cases.
