These are the great civilizations of history, according to Oswald Spengler in his work "The Decline of the West", published in 1922. Which of these civilizations fascinates you the most?

The Faustian civilization is perhaps the most tragic in history.

i hate all of them

Nubia and China

Also why is Russian considered not Developed in terms of architectural expression?

Because all the iconic Russian architecture was created by foreigners. The Italians built the Moscow Kremlin.

I don’t think it’s on the list but Persian civilization is very fascinating. If I had to pick from the list, Classical.

all anti human
To each his own. I think that most humans are slaves by nature, while a few are capable of extraordinary feats, as past civilizations show. As someone who enjoys aesthetics, I can't help but be fascinated by them.

I don't agree with Spengler on this, but I suspect the reasoning behind this is that most Russian architecture styles are of foreign origin. (Byzantine and Italian for the most part)

If you see a Russian great architectural monument, there is a 90% chance that it was created by an Italian, French or German in the 18th and 19th century.

Persia is considered to be part of Magean civilization. Perhaps you can argue that it is deserving of its own standing as a unique civilization.

China, Egypt, Greece, Roman

The Aztecs had it all, man. Imagine if they would have had more time to develop their technology like the Europeans, first contact wouldn't have been so brutal

Imagine living in a society where this was their idea of fun. Heaven on earth! Or rather hell :feelsdevil: :feelsdevil: :feelsdevil: :feelsdevil:

Where's Africa an sheeeet

Toss-up between classical & faustian

Persia(which would be Magan but with Indo-European influence ig) and China also have interested me

The Decline of the West was written in 1922, so perhaps Soviet architecture from the mid-late twentieth century can be considered Russia's own architectural style that sets it apart from other civilizations.

It is possible that Soviet architecture was largely Jewish, as Jews dominated all spheres of the intelligentsia until 1950, but even from 1950 to 1990 had a great influence on cinema, music, architecture and sciences, medicine.

brutalist architecture is kino, I love titanic concrete high rises that make me feel like an ant (and yes I know that building isn't brutalist)

None. Not interested, because it's all led to what we have now. Which is shit and benefits only the rich and greedy who've been in power for centuries. When you're a poor and have nothing, nothing matters. Just how it is.

What we have now is post-civilizational, and yes, that is how the cycles of history work. Cultures develop into civilizations, reach their peak and slowly degenerate until they die. Most people, by and large, have always been worthless. The lie of equality and everyone being special is relatively new.

they all kinda cool

And not even ironically at this point destroying us. You're bang on the money.
