Expecting the worst in regard to inceldom and life in general, for the latter it is more difficult since there are worse things than being a sexless loner, is one of the best coping mechanisms out there.
You don't necessarily have to rot forever, just don't expect anything in return from your commitment other than wisdom.
To know it is over no matter what you do, that solitude will be the only one beside us in our deathbeds, will make things easier. I think hope will hurt us more in the long run than simply accepting our fate as incels, that no joy was meant for us.
Being hopeful is frustrating, expecting the worst gets you mentally prepared and if somehow "it begins for you", you will truly appreciate it. We tend to be more grateful with what come to us unexpectedly.
