A family I know they have 4 sons age 34-44. They are white upper middle class and into school as their father is a teacher. All 4 sons had the plan to become doctors for the money and status.

2 of the sons did become doctors, and they are both married with children. The 2 other sons were able to get bachelors degrees but not able to make it into med school. These 2 sons are wagies, and both childless, with one of them incel and the other able to get girlfriends but not to have his children.
