right now its only 1.0 (so only social media like discord instagram etc) but if they (probably will) implement 2.0 it will be your whole gallery, "encrypted" messaging app wont work anymore since they will have to give goverment the keys, and yes there are plans to ban vpns and make internet connection only usable with id, so now you wont use internet as "someone" everything you do is and will be archived with your full legal name slapped on it, it wont matter if you use an alt acc anymore

yes exactly i mean there already are trying to pass it till it works, it was their fifth time to pass the chatcontrol (it started in 2023). Its really crazy and the best part that when i go shopping i see european union banners saying how they promote "freedom"

They have really great consumer privacy laws in Europe then they pull this shit out of their asses kek.

But really though warrantless wiretapping seems pretty stretched, from what I've seen it just seems to be just hash matching from unencrypted sources which services like Google and Discord already do.

Some of the other tools like AI scanning or Text scanning could be more problematic but yeah i can see this being a slippery slope for sure, I would seriously consider opsecmaxxing if I were you and start using VPNs to "Hopefully" avoid being subject to this regulation.

And obviously switch to encrypted communication apps because they're exempt at least for now.
