Always being paranoid to do anything outside the lines of the law or somethings society might deem immoral.
I was like this also. It's because the legal system is rigged against you. Also people will be witnesses against you, both more likely if they actually saw you do anything, but also more likely to lie because fuck you. You just adapted well to the 90% of the time you won't get away with shit. Now you have to work on seeing your opportunities and seizing them.
That's the opposite of an ethnic trait. White people are more likely to follow the law, but brown people won't mind breaking the rules.
No, that's a misconception. White people break the law all the fucking time, and in rather disgusting ways. They are allowed to get away with it. White cop may choose to take pity, white witnesses will say they didn't see anything, people will say it was just X, not a big deal, etc. You've probably had this done to you when a white person did you wrong. It's how they look out for each other.
Crime statistics don't differentiate between not committing crimes and getting away with crimes. The truth of being white in America is that you have a much better sense of what you can get away with than an immigrant does, and also have the benefit of ethnic solidarity if something goes to jury. There is nothing I fear more than a jury, literally no demographic likes me, if I can choose a bench trial I always will.
If you want your illusions about white people shattered, travel more. I've been places where they lack the subtlety that city folks do, and once you see it, city subtlety doesn't hide it anymore. If I had never traveled, I'd still be fooled.
