This is just liberal economics applied to finding a mate. The same way the son of a business tycoon who inherits millions, gets accepted into an ivy league, and has connections to elite businessmen tells poor people to stop complaining and just work harder and they can become like him. Yes the occasional poor man strikes it big. But in all likelihood those at the bottom will stay at the bottom. Sure it doesn't hurt to try, but what they don't realize is they're at odds with the incredible force of nature and circumstance. The equivalent to a lame deer trying to escape from a gang of wolves.
