Why couldn't he shoot the door open or break in somehow? I can't see how it would be that difficult to do.

Yeah wrong car but he included a fundamental part that is the locked door, which the other video left out but the car was accurate, exactly the same one as ER's.

Might be true but without the BMW 325i E92 Black Coupe, it's simply not the same. GTA V even has a very similar car in the game:
