Doom 2016, Doom Eternal and Doom 3. Bought these games at great discounts during the Steam Autumn sale. Also picked up a bunch of indie games from no-name developers but this thread is about the Doom games.
I beat Doom 2016 in 2-3 days. I enjoyed it quite a lot. The controls were fantastic and the combat was fun.
However, there were things I didn't like. For example, the idea of a dozen enemies spawning at once in a big open space; it was cool the first few times and then it became stale after a while. IMO the enemies should have been distributed more evenly across the level.
I felt that the levels were way too vast; each level could have been split into 2 smaller levels.
I aso think the doom guy was extremely overpowered, given how he can kill demons with his bare hands.
I'm currently re-playing Doom 3. I first played it in 2006 and it is one of my all time favorite games. Going back to Doom 3 after Doom 2016 felt pretty jarring. Everything is dark. And the monsters are scarier and stronger, even the "cannon fodder" type enemies like the imps and spiders.
I've written my thoughts on Doom 3 in this thread:

Doom Eternal will have to wait as I need to make space for it. I think I'll save it for later.

Doom 3: My thoughts
Doom 3 is the best Doom game IMO. Its survival horror setting sets it apart from the other titles in the franchise which were straightforward run & gun action games. Sure, there were some cheap jump-scares, but overall, the game was designed to be genuinely scary with it's lighting, sound and...
