Its just a useless platitude that people throw out to ignore the many elephants in the room. Its the kind of advice that has nothing offensive contained within it, advice that's so general and shallow that no one can really fault it but then its seldom the sort of advice that targets the problem. Its on the same level as "Be yourself" or "Have some confidence" its advice that presumes success is linked to various changeable aspect of a persons life, and not the result of luck.

Women don't get given such hollow advice because men want them in all shapes, sizes and personalities...Females can exist off of a notion of "Time will present a man" whereas we're expected to jump through a series of increasingly more impossible hoops in order to obtain some elusive state of 'making it'. Fuck people that offer such frivolous advice and willingly remain ignorant to the real picture.
