Venting does this ever happen to anyone?

you speak to somebody (aka a classmate or a peer) and you form a good connection.

then a week later that person doesn't even acknowledge your existence

a week after that, this person is behaving like a friend again, communicating,telling jokes etc.
is this part of normal human interaction?

This is part of someone so selfish it acknowledges people around it when they need them.
Or maybe he/she had it rough for some time.
Hard to tell.
