Does the doorknob rope trick work effectively?

Just was wondering, if you took some pajama pants and tied them to the outside of a door and then around you neck and then closed the door and leaned down, would that definitely kill you? Or does it depend more on your neck structure?

You need oil info the floor to keep yourself from bailing out, but yes it works.

Seems like a slow and painful way to go out though.
