Serious Does anybody know stuff about Mountainbikes?

I want to buy a bike but I don't have the slightest clue.
After hours of googling I still don't know what to look for tbh.
There are just so many different parts, it's impossible for me to figure out which ones are worth it and which ones aren't.
I just need a Hardtail 27.5" for some basic mountainbiking.
Should I get a new one or buy a used one?
Which parts are a must have?
Which price range offers the best value fro money?

I know that the success rate of this thread will be minimal, but I'll give it a try.

don't buy online. go to a shop and take a test ride. if it feels good, it's good.
some shops will order specific models just for you to test ride.
it's the most important to have a fitting size.
and don't buy carbon shit. nearly impossible to repair.
in general, the more expensive manufacturers also offer better repair services.
