Do you think a 5’10 180 pound gymmaxer can beat a 6’5 220 pound gymmaxer in a fist fight ?

Do you think so ?

I think he’d stand a chance

Depends on how skilled they are compared to each other. The shorter guy can still beat the taller dude if he can execute his attacks well and the tall dude isn't good at fighting.

Otherwise, the tall dude obviously has an advantage if all else being equal.

No because of weight. If the shorter guy has more weight he could win.

For this reason is that boxing is divided by weight.

Impossible unless 5’10 guy is prime tyson

A 180 pound man stands a better chance against a 220 pound man than a 120 pounder does against a 160 pounder

why is this a question? Both are gymmaxxed taller guy is heavier who do you think will win?

Skill might be able to override the weight difference here. The smaller guy would have enough be a way better fighter

Depends on skill, but not likely.

At the size of 180lbs, that is when you start to get heavy enough where your punches can knock someone out. So yea, like others said, if the 180lbs guy is skillful and moves correctly and the tallfag has no clue on how to fight or is poor at it.

But if both are of equal skill, the taller heavier guy obviously has the advantage.

Ever watch MMA in the lower weight divisions? Those lighter guys are hitting each other clean and very hard on the head and yet thats not enough to KO. Because they are lighter. So I reiterate, at 180lbs that is when you are heavy enough where your punches can do some real damage. Unless you got really small knuckles (small hands) and small arms.

If the smaller guy has vastly more experience then yes

If the 5’10” guy is trained in bjj, wrestling, and boxing or Muay Thai, certainly

If not, then no

You are underestimating formal training with live full speed sparring

Going against a wrestler or bjj player without any experience feels like drowning

180 lbs is big enough to where you can execute with enough power

Royce Gracie took down 230 lb trained fighters at 175 lbs with bjj

The reason bjj and wrestling are useful is because they involve real full speed fighting in practice, not fake moves like karate

Bunch of fools. The tall guy will have longer reach which will not only allow him to remain guarded but also strike with much less risk to his own body.
