Convicted criminals could probably be great soldiers if they are properly trained.

I would only support the idea if there is a war in the moment (for example it's the case of your country) but not in normal conditions.

There is no such kind of forced mobilization as in Ukraine yet, so they have enough of cannon fodder which signs the contract for money.

I have heard from russians that some people are forcefully recruited, I guess isn't in a too big scale yet.

I mean...... if one were to use the russian strategy of having them be Kanonnenfutter then I guess that there wouldn't be much harm in that. But having them join the convetional military would be silly. If I had nothing to lose and you put a gun in my hands then I'd most likely kill the people who took everything away.

Nah, in order to remove their sentence they will probably gladly fight, and they are fit for the war because they wouldn't have any doubt before shooting the enemy soldier
