I talk to myself more than anyone else combined

The whole department knows about it.

Not only do I speak to myself/mutter, I tend to smirk when something funny pops in my head or I imagine a random scenario etc.
Sometimes I'm not aware when I do it because I've been doing it since I was a kid. I think its called "Overactive Imagination" or "Overactive Daydreaming". I am trying to move to another department or shift because I've developed a reputation of being the autistic weirdo, they even talk to me like I'm a special needs person. That shit is aggravating, insulting and it makes me feel like shit.

I do the same thing lmao. I full on laugh too. I used to get made fun of for randomly cracking up all the time. I don't mind though, I'd rather go through out the day laughing and having fun than not laughing and being bored.

More like a never-ending inner monologue. I never felt the need to vocalize it, but inside my head it's pretty intense.
Ohh, I do react to what my inner voice says though, making faces or reactions sometimes.
Same here. Have you every bust out laughing because you said something funny?
I do talk out loud when at home because I don't like feeling alone.

I am very surprised by these polls results. I would have thought it an uncommon thing.

All the time pretty much. Just thinking out loud. But I guess it's also said in a way like I'm saying it to someone else (maybe thinking in that way is part of being an extrovert). I think it makes me feel way less lonely.

I've actually found myself sometimes avoiding the very limited social interaction I can get in a day, at least partly so I can "talk to myself" more. Because other people are prone to a) being around for a while and then leaving and b) being unkind.

So I like my own company quite a bit!

Sometimes when I'm daydreaming I speak to myself.

I always talk to myself. It helps to concentrate. You need to voice the idea to fully understand it. In this case, an interlocutor doesn't matter. Of course, a lot of NORMAL people will try to talk with somebody, but they will do it only to stay NORMAL (or even to show the others how NORMAL they are). NORMAL people will behave that way despite they don't need someone's opinion on the subject.

I talk to myself probably more than I've talked to other people

i whisper to myself a lot, i tend to just say my thoughts out loud, i like to keep my mind constantly preoccupied with thoughts so i can have some sort of distraction.
