I don't have any hatred towards him, but he didn't spend much time raising me. When he came home from work, he either drank and watched TV or did some household chores.

I think this is a common trait. Fathers don't spend much time with their children because they're tired at work and still consider themselves young at heart, and when they get older and retire, they take their "fatherly duties" seriously with their grandchildren.

In the end, I replied "I respect him" because he didn't beat me or humiliate me, and when I was little, he played video games with me, even though he wasn't interested in them, and it was clear that he was doing it out of obligation to please me.
