Discussion Do you live in a neighborhood that’s safe to walk around late at night?

I always thought I did until lately. I was just about to go out when my mother warned me against it because there had apparently been reports of car break-ins and she herself had seen suspicious characters loitering around our neighborhood at night. Even though I was aware of all this, I never thought it could be dangerous to go for a walk, but then again, my mom probably has a point, considering that most of the types roaming around at this time are ethnic and wigger teenagers who’d be very ready to jump and rob a lone whitecel like me.

Safe from crime, pretty much, but I would fear encountering dangerous animals more than actual crimes against me. The only other thing is fearing that someone thinks that I am up to no good since I am mulatto and walking around at night which is suspicious.

The Homeless/junkie populations would rise and fall, I remember back in 2022/2023 constantly screwing around a few hours after sunset by my self walking to the gas station and buying slop and what not.

There was always a few close encounters, but during the final years it became very safe

But the town am staying at currently is pretty shitty, like dogs are a constant issue and what not

My neighborhood’s in a similar situation to yours. Mostly safe but getting more unsafe. The people that live across from me had a car stolen a few days ago, and on the two days preceding that, my garage door suspiciously opened on its own around 2-4 AM. Thankfully the garage problem is fixed for now, since my dad disabled the app we use to open it (which we assume our account on has been hacked)
