Me, every time I was ever around them they made me feel really bad and isolated. Then of course they'd say it's because they "love you", when the entire time you just feel like trash and bad about yourself.

I know better now and know that is not somehow your fault and you're being gaslit.

The real question is not if I like them, but whether or not they like me. My dad is ashamed of me, he is extremely negative every time I talk to him, and he hides the reality of my life to his family. The only person in my family who I regularly talk to irl is my mother.

Depends. I don't like the few family members I have here in Europe, but I do like my family members in curryland a lot.

my dad is actually pretty cool even though I don't live with him. I'm not on the best terms with my mom but we just stay out of each other's way. in fact I rarely ever talk to anyone in my family. I haven't had an actual conversation with my brother in more than a year even though we go to school together and live in the same house
