Like right now, ram prices are through the roofs. YOu used to be able to get 128 gb for like 700 bucks, but now even 32 gbs are 200 bucks at their cheapest.

The good thing is if you're building a gaming PC, it's not necessary to have much RAM. Get the minimum now like a couple shit 8GB DDR5 sticks and be patient. It's going to take some time.

16GB is barely cutting it nowadays, 32GB should be minimum especially if you play performance intensive games

ddr4 prices are still normal. AM4 + proper videocard is still enough for 95% of modern AAA games

people will just settle for cheaper and less ram. 32gb is recommended nowadays for the average gamer but you can make do with 16, people will just buy less ram and also slower because even old last gen ram is still perfectly adequate
