I mean, a big reason the Xbox One didn't do as well as the PS4 was the software.

IMO Windows 10 (and probably 11 I haven't tried it) is very poor compared to 7 and even 8.1.

It does almost put me off PC gaming.

I just wanted to hear people's thoughts on this :)
 
doesn't matter what platform you're on, software becomes more and more bloated with each year because everything is being done in a hurry with poorly qualified staff. I use Windows 10 for years and it's pretty stable, have no problems with it, but yeah if you compared 7 to 10 in terms of average FPS it's a bit lower.

I don't really mean FPS I mean the overall behaviour and performance of the OS in day-to-day use.

Forced updates and all the rest.

you can delay updates if you don't have time to install them, any OS is good in day to day use if you install it on at least SATA 3 SSD
 
my Windows 10 installation is 2 years old and i have no problems
