you can get refunds within 2 weeks of buying from steam if you played less than an hour

viruses, slow DL speeds, the hassle, possibly some issues with online network play

I agree it's prob prefereable for a lot of expensive single-player games though, I might do that for Riftmaker or Last Spell

that said when I admire the games I don't mind supporting the creator so even if you pirate and enjoy it you might officially buy later

I feel better being a benefactor for vidya than spending on some escort
