Software engineering competition is insane. Many are attending bootcamps, enrolling in colleges to get a degree in CS, supplementing their studies with StackOverflow and textbooks written on data structures and algorithms, which causes many low-profile applicants filling up the pipelines. And it's only going to get worse with profit-incentivized businesses handing out visa's and outsourcing practices.

I plan to do a shotgun, scattered approach where I apply to as many jobs as possible. But I expect to be rejected over and over again by employers similar to how I've been rejected over and over again by women. Because whatever I bring to the table will only be overshadowed by other men more intelligent than me, making all the studying and work I've done meaningless.
