My dad beat my mom many times. Most of it was petty but two memorable ones are one time he grab scissors and started cutting her hair and hitting her. Another which I wasn't home for but she told me he took all her clothes and lit them on fire in the living room.

When I was younger yeah yelling verbally loud at eachother all the time lmao. Then one time my dad was drunk and punched my mom and that was a big deal. My mom took my sister's and I and we stayed in a hotel for a few days while my my mom talked to my dad's parents (my grandparents). Then one time my mom pulled a knife on my dad.
They've been married for 25 years now
