never had a dad, remember being at the orphanage and had to stay in line any time they made us do an activity. i remember being excited when i was passed a small cup with candy in it and watched Shamu around the other kids. i’d be woken up by an adult brown woman every morning snatching my sheets, before wanting to get up. bunch of kids a few of whom i oddly remember the faces of. i don’t remember his face

How can you teach somebody to be a man when real masculinity comes from genes??Mine sure didn't. He has this thing where since he figured it out on his own that I should too. He always says "my dad never had to teach me that" or "my dad never talked to me about this". He thinks that since he learned it all on his own the same should apply to me. This is not to say my grandpa was a bad father but he belonged to a different generation and dad had to figure out modern life all on his own. I understand he wants me to be an independent man but fuck he was like this when I was little too. I just wanted him to groom me to become a man not a pussy

my grandfather died when my dad was 7, so yea he was pretty much fatherless growing up. So he made sure the same happens with me.(he's alive btw)
Pretty much this coupled with him being an asshole to the rest of my family meant I never had a male role model growing up.
