Sadly, my dad wasn't around a whole lot when I was a younger kid so I was around my mom more

Granted, as I got older we have done some of the usual "father son" bonding stuff, but then also he never really taught me how to "be a man" come to think of it

Sums up my childhood perfectly well.

never had a dad, remember being at the orphanage and had to stay in line any time they made us do an activity. i remember being excited when i was passed a small cup with candy in it and watched Shamu around the other kids. i’d be woken up by an adult brown woman every morning snatching my sheets, before wanting to get up. bunch of kids a few of whom i oddly remember the faces of. i don’t remember his face
