Gaming Diablo4 vs Path of Exile 2?

Hypothetically say I'm only allowed to purchase one of the games and that is due to money + time sink. I can't spend 1000+hrs on each game since I work but I can probably dedicate all my waking hours on one of the two.

I'm not as game savvy as I used to be so looking to you nerds for advice. I enjoyed Diablo2/3 and enjoyed PoE1 sort of equally.

Diablo 4 will be better in general, but poe 2 is free and won't come with other bullshit like auction house.

D4 sounds neat. I still haven't played D3 but encountered spoilers as to the plot. Online only... I'll have to avoid it until I can get a decent internet connection. Been sticking to MMO over games due to regular disconnections.
